Career Development Week this year was a busy one, with our Sixth Form Students having the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of different activities, trips and workshops across the week.
The week began with our Sixth Formers attending a panel event featuring four former students of The Rhythm Studio who shared stories about their journey after their time with is. We had Elliot London (El Londo) - rapper / producer, Stella Webb - singer / songwriter / producer / Berklee Graduate, Casper Miles - session musician (Willie J Healy, Billie Marten, ENNY), Wilkie Morrison - theatre sound engineer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Anything Goes, To Kill A Mockingbird) / RADA Graduate.
Following the panel a number of our Sixth Form bands auditioned for a chance to record at the legendary Abbey Road studios. After an afternoon of brilliant auditions, in the end the prize was won by students Ruby, Anais, Yasmin and Mia! Thanks to our friends at Music Workshop Bath for helping to make it all happen!
The week continued with students taking trips to the Royal Albert Hall for the Future Makers Finals (where we had three acts in the finals!), as well as trips to the DIVA Exhibition at the V&A in South Kensington, the Southbank Centre to attend the Ana Sokolovic: Music of Today performance and a trip to The Tate Modern.
At the end of the week we were incredibly lucky to have Carl Smith, one of the founding members and performers of Stomp, coming down to The Rhythm Studio to give a Stomp inspired performance workshop.
Career Development Week this year concluded with a workshop hosted by our very own Louis Greenwood & Harriet Pittard using their expertise to teach the Sixth Formers how to refine their CVs and approach organisations for work experience, internships and employment.
