On Wednesday 15th November, The Rhythm Studio Foundation hosted a fundraising concert at a small venue in South West London, The Bread and Roses in Clapham. Featuring five different acts across four hours of music, it was an evening bustling with live music of a variety of genres and styles, all to help raise money for the Foundation.
The evening kicked off with an acoustic set from Glitch-Folk / Indie artist 4. Or Docklands. Jack took to the stage to perform three lengthy, progressive tracks. Utilising live looping to build up expansive textures and atmospheres, Jack captivated the audience with two unreleased tracks as well as a fully acoustic rendition of ‘A Spear To The Chest’ from 2021’s debut EP ‘Come//Close’.
Next up to the stage was Singer / Songwriter Danny Wymbs who performed a couple of Acoustic only tracks before being joined on stage by their backing band for an explosive finale to the set. Performing both covers and original tracks, Danny & Co. were a popular act with the crowd.
The third artist on the bill on Wednesday evening was a very special appearance from The Rhythm Studio Alumni ‘CYNICS’. Formed when the members were studying at The Rhythm Studio and have been making music and performing together ever since! Performing tracks from their debut EP ‘Restless In Comfort’ as well as their first single ‘Seeing Red’, Cynics brought the energy to The Bread & Roses.
The penultimate act on the night was Casual Wednesday, an Indie / Power Pop act hailing from East London. Performing tracks from their EP ‘Visions’ which released last year, Casual Wednesday brought the tunes as well as the audience participation in songs such as brand new track ‘Blindspot’.
Last but certainly not least on stage we had Carina, a Lo-Fi Indie Pop artist who brought some upbeat and chill vibes to the stage to close out the evening, performing tracks from all across their discography and closing out a lively evening of live music at The Bread & Roses.
