As part of our Hospitals’ work, we've started a programme to support young people with medical conditions who have been forced to shield due to Cover-19. Our partners at Imperial Health Charity have identified patients who would benefit from one-to-one music tuition delivered via zoom. We've been thrilled with the feedback and so far, have worked with six students ranging in age from 10 to 17. We plan to expand this shielding scheme in lieu of our face-to-face visits on the wards.
"I am extremely grateful to you for organising this and indeed to The Rhythm Studio Foundation. I would be most grateful if you could pass on my thanks and recognition.”
Dr Josu De La Fuente, Consultant Paediatric Haematologist, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
“..it has been a big hit with all of our families, with nurses also saying there has been a visible improvement in the children they work with when they come in for treatments…..it would be great for their input to continue.”
Dr Becky Armstrong, Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Haematology, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
"For us as a family, Drew being give this wonderful opportunity has been brilliant, a bit of sun on a gloomy situation. He’s looked forward to every lesson and Kaja is an amazing teacher. Online lessons have taken nothing away from the experience, lessons are well structured & Kaja is patient, enthusiastic and brings out the best in Drew.”
Helen, Drew’s mother
