ALUMNI PANEL

Description: This workshop will see former students return to where it all began to share details about their life after The Rhythm Studio. The alumni will take part in an informal Q&A and share some of their live tracks. This year’s guests include Myla Newell, Chase Watson, Nicola Maniglia and Rudi Thompson.

PERFORMANCE AUDITION

Description: One act from The Rhythm Studio will earn the right to take part in a very special upcoming performance opportunity! Our alumni panel will watch the auditions and give the bands and solo artists feedback on their performances. If you would like to to audition you must fill in the form via the button below by Friday 18th October.

BIMM - UNIVERSITY TASTER

Description: Gina Caprio, Outreach Senior Officer at BIMM, will be coming down to introduce activities and courses at their campus, as well as hosting an interactive workshop.

MASTERCLASS: MATTY B (MD/DRUMMER STORMZY)

Date: Tuesday 22ndOctober

Time: 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Location: The Rhythm Studio

Description: A masterclass with leading musical director Matty B, who has worked with some of the UK’s biggest names Stormzy, Sugababes, D-Block Europe and Leigh-Anne. Matty will share his insights about what it means to be a successful session musician and musical director.

“BEING YOUR OWN BOSS” - CHARMFACTORY

Description: Jeremy Scott has always been values driven: equal parts challenger and reformer. After frequenting the sticky carpet venues of NZ playing in grunge bands in the 90’s, Jeremy shifted his focus to the world of major labels, with successful stints in marketing at BMG, Sony Music, Universal and Jamie Oliver, before lauching the artist development programme at Charmfactory.

HAYWARD GALLERY - HAEGUE YANG EXHIBITION

Description: The Rhythm Studio welcomes industry leaders Seb Juliver (Forever Audio), Joel Peters (Three Six Zero) and Javier Weyler (5dB), for a panel session on careers in the world of recording studios and sound design.

SHE’S GOT BRASS

Description: She’s Got Brass is London’s groundbreaking 10-piece female-fronted brass
band, boasting renowned female
players from the heart of the London Jazz scene. Learn how the collective was established and how it is making waves in the UK music scene.

ROYAL NORTHERN COLLEGE OF MUSIC - TASTER

Date: Thursday 24th October

Description: Andy Stott, Director of Popular Music at Royal Northern College of Music, will introduce students to the activities and courses on offer at their campus in Manchester. Students will gain an insight into RMCM’s popular music course, one of the most prestigious contemporary music higher education courses in the UK.

Description: A visit to this iconic London venue for a tour and careers session. Students will learn about the hall’s history, explore the auditorium and backstage areas, meet staff from different departments and take part in a Q&A.

Description: Join a vibrant Samba Reggae workshop led by Marcos Santana from the renowned *Tribo* band - Notting Hill carnival 2024 champions! Dive into the rhythmic world of Afro-Brazilian percussion, exploring the powerful beats and energetic spirit of Bahia’s Samba Reggae tradition. This hands-on session will immerse you in the dynamic fusion of samba and reggae.

WORK EXPERIENCE & CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Description: The Rhythm Studio's Career Development Lead, Louis Greenwood, along with music business teacher and industry professional Harriet Pittard, lead a workshop on career paths in the music industry and application tips for jobs and work experience.
