RSF Primary School Workshops Are In Full Swing!

One of The Rhythm Studio Foundation’s most exciting initiatives is the workshops we provide in a number of different primary schools across the West London area. During the week our teachers travel out to the schools to deliver composition workshops, while schools local to The Rhythm Studio travel to us to take part in band and music production sessions.

This term we are visiting Ark Atwood Primary Academy to teach music production workshops using Bandlab. The students have looked at different types of production tools, such as drum machines, sample instruments and loops to begin creating their own original compositions to show at the end of term. We also visiting two other North Kensington schools this term, Ark Brunel Primary Academy and St. Peters Primary, with both schools taking part in music production workshops using the iPad version of GarageBand. Each class has been learning how to use the software to create their own original compositions.

Two local primary schools are visiting The Rhythm Studio this term, Avonmore Primary school and Larmenier & Sacred Heart, with each school working towards a performance at their school before Christmas. The classes are split in two halves with one half focusing on learning instruments to perform as a band at the Christmas event, and the other half learning to score-to-picture using Logic Pro X. The production students this term have been working in pairs to write their own original music to clips from animated movies ‘Ratatouille’ and ‘Minions’.
