RSF Scholarship Profiles - Alejandra

As we welcome our new group of RSF music scholars for 2020-21, we say goodbye to a number of long-standing scholarship holders who have spent several years at the Rhythm Studio. They are now joining our growing group of Alumni and we’d like to share some of their stories with you as well as wish them good luck in the future.

Alejandra Lozano

Alejandra held an RSF Scholarship for 3 years, studying piano and vocals with Ellie and Ida. She describes them both as “amazing and incredibly inspirational teachers and role models”. She also completed The Rhythm Studio’s Level 2 and Level 3 Certificate Courses. She says the scholarship has allowed her to “think outside the box as well as to compromise and problem solve on the spot in my production courses and one-to-one lessons”. Outside of lessons, Alejandra has also been a regular helper during the holidays at The Rhythm studio HQ.

With a pretty eclectic music taste, Alejandra is a great fan of jazz, indie, pop, reggae, classical and baroque. Her all-time favourite artists are Antonio Flores, Elvis Presley and more recently Seinabo Sey and her current playlist includes Coldplay, Seinabo Sey and other Spanish artists such as Aitana and Andy y Lucas. During lockdown, Alejandra has spent a lot of time at the piano and writing, using the time to get her ideas and feelings out.

One of Alejandra’s highlights at The Rhythm Studio was the production and business event that her production class organised. She is considering pursuing a career in the music industry further down the line, but in the meantime, she is looking forward to going to university to study Psychology.

The Rhythm Studio Foundation Scholarship is an annual award aimed at talented and passionate 11 to 18 year-old musicians in need of financial support to help reach their full potential. The scheme is now in its 8th year and in total we have made over 50 awards of between 50% -100% of music tuition fees. Many of our Alumni have gained places at leading music colleges and universities to continue their musical journey.
