LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC PRODUCTION & business (PART-TIME)

The Rhythm Studio's Level 3 Certificate in Music Production & Business is a contemporary alternative to a traditional music A-Level which equips students with advanced music technology skills. The course is open to students aged 14-18 years and involves the successful completion of one unit in Music Sequencing & Production. This course is ideal for those who wish to supplement their A-Levels with an industry-relevant accredited music course.

RECOMMENDED PRIOR LEARNING

Applicants should be competent with one of the popular music sequencing packages – Ableton Live, Logic, FL Studio or Cubase – and have Maths GCSE at grade C. Playing an instrument or having a music qualification, such as GCSE music, is not essential but would be advantageous as you will be studying some music theory and practice. When reviewing the qualifications and experience held by applicants applying for a Level 2 course, the following will be taken into account: related Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2 qualifications, related musical experience and portfolio of music making activity.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through a combination of practical work, written assignments and group projects.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I RECEIVE?

A nationally recognised RSL Level 3 Certificate for Music Practitioners, a 15 credit qualification equivalent to a quarter of an A-Level.

COURSE TIMETABLE

The course involves a 2.5 hour class each week during term-time over the course of three terms. Students are also required to spend one day in our recording studio during school holidays. A selection of guest lectures from music industry professionals will take place throughout the year, which students will be encouraged to attend.

SUCCEED AND MOVE ON UP

You can progress onto a full-time Level 3 Diploma for Music Practitioners.  Alternatively, those who have also obtained other A-Level equivalent qualifications can progress directly to university or apply for work in the music industry.
