LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE in MUSIC PRODUCTION & business (PART-TIME)
The Rhythm Studio's Level 2 Certificate in Music Production & Business is a practical alternative to a traditional music GCSE which equips students with career-relevant music industry skills. The course is open to students aged 14-18 years and involves the successful completion of two units, Music Sequencing & Production and Organising A Music Event.
RECOMMENDED PRIOR LEARNING
Applicants should have prior music experience and a portfolio of music-making activity, and may have related Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2 qualifications.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will be assessed through a combination of practical work, written assignments and group projects.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I RECEIVE?
A nationally recognised RSL Level 2 Certificate for Music Practitioners, equivalent to one GCSE.
The course involves one regular three-hour class each week during term-time over the course of three terms. Students are also required to spend one day in our recording studio during school holidays. The unit Organising A Music Event culminates the production of a live event, a full-day commitment which takes place during the later stages of the course. A selection of guest lectures from music industry professionals will take place throughout the year, which students will be encouraged to attend.
SUCCEED AND MOVE ON UP
You can progress onto a part-time Level 3 Certificate or a full-time Level 3 Diploma for Music Practitioners in order to prepare for university and a job in the music industry.
