Ellie is a both a musician and an experienced teacher. A classically trained and multi-skilled pianist, she’s as comfortable in the studio as she is on stage, in rehearsal, or in the theatre pit. She studied piano at Royal Academy of Music whilst reading music at King’s, and after graduating accompanied and composed for contemporary dance schools around London, writing scores for theatre productions and new choreography. Now, she plays as a soloist for blues festivals internationally, as well as in sessions at studios around London and Scotland. She is about to release her first solo album of blues classics and original songs, showcasing her competence as a pianist, producer, vocalist, and writer.

Ellie is as passionate about education as she is about music and dance. After qualifying as a teacher in 2013 she worked in London secondary schools for two years, lead workshops for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Trinity Laban, and has taken part in further training with the Musical Futures movement. She now balances her part-time role in a secondary school with tuition, a busy performance schedule, and writing commissions for contemporary theatre performances, whilst keeping up with blues dancing herself on the side.
