Chris Grant originally from Perth, Western Australia has been playing drums since the age of twelve. At sixteen he was awarded an exceptional early entrance into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), a renowned institution for producing the majority of Australia’s young jazz talent. He has toured across Australia, Asia and Europe. He has also performed in numerous Music Theatre productions. He has played to mass audiences of up to ten thousand people and has been formally teaching drums since the age of sixteen.
On graduating WAAPA with a bachelor of music in jazz performance, Chris was one of three national finalists awarded as ‘best up and coming drummer in Australia’ in 2007. One of Chris’ original compositions was selected in 2008 for the upcoming national release of Jazzaziz, a compilation featuring prolific jazz artists of Australia.
Since moving to London UK in March of 2009 Chris has been doing freelance work with a variety of different bands and performers in the pop, rock and jazz arenas, as well as teaching music classes and lessons at a number of different music schools.
